MixTape #9: Worcester Cracker
January 19, 2006

AKA the Worcester Virgin...AKA Superfan...AKA Jason...AKA the kid who takes things a bit too far a little too often. If you've been to a show in the last year, you've seen this guy. We thought it would be interesting to get inside this kid's head, so we gave him a blank cassette, full creative license and asked for a 100 word description of what he came up with. True to form, he went just a bit too far...Check out his description here.

MixTape #8: mixmastermully
January 2, 2006

It's the 'what are you so happy about' mix. From Boston to Seattle to Minneapolis, Memphis, Austin and beyond. He put together a collection of songs that, by the setlist might look bleak, but is decidedly upbeat. Includes the impossible to find track by Youth Hostile, "Let's kill the Olsen Twins." The mix is bookended by spastic comedian, Brian Regan.

MixTape #7: djMoo
December 28, 2005

djMoo cut his indie-rock teeth in the amish-influenced world of central PA. The music they make there is for shit, but their german heritage allows them to brew a fine beer.

Into this musical wasteland he co-founded Proteen Records and set up a basement studio, home to many unknown bands and countless house parties. Two bands from Proteen bookend this set, with Moped leading off and Crop Circle batting sweep. Betwixt and between are various rants and raves from American Top40's legendary Kamel Amin Kasem, or Casey Casem as he is more commonly known. Look out, he's pissed.

MixTape #6: djSelecter70
December 15, 2005

We dug down deep in the archives and found a double Christmas mixtape that Stefan made back in 2003. This one nearly predates Stoodio53 itself. This seven song set represents a small fraction of the overall scope but contains some juicy bits including the opening version of 'White Christmas' by Clyde McPhatter and the Drifters. Best version ever...

MixTape #5: SPITZZTom
December 8, 2005

Not one to let a little thing like fatherhood get in the way of his appreciaton for music, SPITZZTom put this MixTape together between trips to the Diaper Genie. The singer/guitarist of Spitzz compiled a little glam, some proto-Punk and healthy dose of Fabio to make this a MixTape for the ages.

MixTape #3: Baron von Funtån (the dj)
November 16 , 2005

Issuing forth from his mountain dominion, these sonic missives are his vanguard scouts. The strongest and most trustworthy (which survived the bloody political sonicontra purges of a decade ago), are contained in this dispatch, the first contact this secretive figure has made in many years. An air of uncertainty and dread hangs thick in the lands around his fortress, but this may bring some measure of comfort to those within his power...if the outside world is receptive to his overture.

MixTape #2: djBullitt
October 27, 2005

Bullitt got tired of the road. Tired of scraping for wooden nickels in the honky tonks and juke joints. So he packed his Roots Rock and Southern Soul records into the back of his rickshaw and took off for the Carolina shores, the true home of Beach music. The only contact we have with him are these occasional sets he mails by third class parcel post in sandy little envelopes.

MixTape #1: djSelecter70
October 12, 2005

Here's one from the mixtape master himself, djSelecter70 (aka Stefan Scott). He busted out some old timey punk and garage with a few poppy numbers for you breastfeeders out there on this, our first official MixTape. This mofo's got it in with the outro yo...
